HOUSE R

The single-family house, «House R», is a residential project located in the city of Pucallpa, in the Amazon rainforest of Peru. The site is far from the city; immersed within the forest and adjacent to an artificial lake.

The design concept seeks to integrate part of the first level of the house, where the social areas are located, with the spectacular environment that surrounds it. For this, sliding glass doors were used that could hide in different locations, giving it the flexibility as desired.

Private areas are located on the upper floor; this way the bedrooms have direct views of the treetops and the lake. The two private areas, the main bedroom and that of the secondary ones, are connected by a bridge that extends over the living room and entrance double height.

The architecture mixes contemporary elements in the design, such as the use of exposed concrete, glass and steel, but maintains a link with the architecture of the place thanks to the wooden ceiling that covers the entire house.
